TRAINER'S LIABILITY...WHAT DOES IT COVER?
Commercial liability insurance is designed to protect if your horse or the clients horse in the course of your operations, causes property damage or bodily injury to another party. Your company will DEFEND you (an important consideration as lawyers are costly) even if you are NOT to blame!
Bodily injury or property damage caused on or off your premises such as at a show or another facility which may not be covered on other forms of liability.
One such form is the trainers professional liability. In this instance THE TRAINER must be the one making the wrong move. Also, one cannot name a landlord or facility as additional insured because this only covers the TRAINER for mistakes!
The proper form for a trainer to obtain is COMMERCIAL GENERAL LIABILITY.
