If you are one of the lucky people who can take a summer riding program or whose child will be doing so, it is important to find out how the camp intends to cover injury to you or your child or your property. Some places have a student accident policy which you must purchase for the lesson program. This is a very handy coverage and will serve you well. Liability should be in place, so check it out before you take that program. If the facility does not have coverages, I would go somewhere else. There are plenty of places to enjoy horseback riding. We shop for everything else so be picky when it comes to uninsured places.

It is also important to realize that riding is a dangerous sport and all of us who ride have fallen more than once. The blame, most times, lies in our own inadequacies as riders. Insurance is there for the protection of the public in negligent happenings. If an accident happens, getting better is the important thing. So, look and listen to your instructor and have a great time and a safe one.
