SPECIAL INSURANCE NEEDS FOR THE INDOOR SHOW SEASON

The indoor season presents special insurance needs for the horse owner as well as the show giver. As a exhibitor, our "stuff" is now either being held by someone at the in gate or on the ground unattended. Make sure your homeowner policy has theft away from home on it. In close quarters the chance of your horse accidentally stepping on toes or sideswiping someone are greater than the open areas near outdoor rings. Watch that liability coverage. Again, check with your Agent for coverage on your homeowner policy or purchase a separate liability for your horse needs.

The horse show givers need their own liability for things that happen to YOU, the exhibitor. The amazing part of all this is that the costs are very reasonable.

The horse itself if insured, can have major medical coverage added to an existing policy with a new vet exam for that purpose. Check with your Agent if you don't have the coverage now. Close quarters at home and at the show result in injury to horses, who are known to get injured at the drop of a hat, rolling, shifting weight, brushing off imaginary flying things with their tails. Cover your exposures and best of all HAVE A GREAT TIME ON THE INDOOR CIRCUIT.
