Most amateur riders think that helping a friend or giving advice to a rider does not constitute professional training and they are correct. However, if you do help someone, even not for money, the result when that person is injured is the same as if you gave 100 lessons a year and rode on the A circuit as a professional. You CAN get sued. For a small charge, you can get coverage for your own personal liability and the rare assistance or lesson to someone else. Your status is NOT altered one bit but you will be able to sleep at night. We all buy insurance with the thought in mind "I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO USE THIS."
